Lighthouse Accomodation

The automation of lighthouses has meant that many lighthouses now have surplus accommodation.  Some of the dwellings have been turned into bed and breakfast establishments, some sold as private homes and some as holiday lets.  This list is not complete, but it will give an idea of just what is available.

This useful directory in A5 book form is the work of a lighthouse enthusiast Joy Adcock. It lists the majority of accommodation based on UK lighthouses with description of each property with a contact name and full address/phone numbers. The Irish Landmark Trust are again offering holiday accommodation at the Wicklow Head Lighthouse. It's on the east coast, within easy reach of Dublin. They are also offering accommodation at the Galley Head Lighthouse in County Cork for the first time. Two of the former keepers' homes are available for parties up to six people. On the west coast, the keepers' accommodation at the Loop Head Lighthouse is available.

Trinity House are offering holidays at redundant lighthouses keepers dwellings and on their flagship THV Patricia.

The Lighthouse Dwellings:
